My name is John Richter, and I've been a mortgage broker in Minnesota since 1996. That's nearly three decades of helping families figure out what they can actually afford, what they actually need, and how to get there — without the stress and guesswork that makes homebuying feel so hard.

Why I Do This Differently

Most people walk into the mortgage process expecting to be sold something. What they really need is someone to slow down, explain what's happening, and help them make the right decision for their family — not just the fastest one.

That's exactly how I work.

I spent years coaching youth and high school sports . Whether I was drawing up a play or walking a client through their loan options, the job was always the same: understand where someone is, figure out where they want to go, and build a game plan to get them there.

That's what I do for every client — every time.

As an independent broker, I'm not tied to one bank's products or one set of rates. I work with over 120 lenders, which means I'm shopping the market on your behalf to find the mortgage that actually fits your life.

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life and in Champlin for over 25 years! This is my community. When I help a family buy a home, I take that personally.
